Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the Nourishing Hope for Autism Summit that has everyone talking about the new science that proves there are ways to improve many of some of our challenging symptoms!
The world is being Bamboozled into believing that autism and SPD can be ignored because there’s not much that can help us. Did you know that’s not true? And how many of us there actually are now? Statistics show that 1 in 36 children are now on the autism spectrum. (1 in 28 boys!)
Unfortunately, TODAY is the last day for the discounted purchase option for the Summit. And they take pay pal credit too! So if you need it ( And you likely DO!- trust me. I have It.) be sure not to miss this great bundle price. Tomorrow the price goes up.
Of the presentations I’ve heard thus far/ the speakers (Most of whom I’ve heard speak on these topics at least once) are exceptional!
See some of exactly what you’ll end up missing if you don’t claim your free access pass now HERE. At least to catch a possible free replay.
I am thrilled to invite you to attend the Nourishing Hope for Autism Summit!
This online summit began TODAY, Monday, July 30th, and there is no cost to attend.
For 16 years, my friend and colleague, Julie Matthews has provided scientifically based nutrition strategies that help the symptoms and behaviors associated with Autism, ADHD and other developmental delays. Now, she is co-author of a peer-reviewed 12-month research study that substantiates the approach. ( You can access that study buy reading a different recent post or two on this blog)
So she has gathered twenty-five leading experts to present the science, their clinical results, and steps practitioners and parents can take to help children with Autism.

Just this month. Facebook added at least 3 more IBS support groups. Which I love! What I mean buy that is I love that they exist and are quickly gaining new members. Because the more options. The more awareness of our community is required from those in society. Which means more research, recognizing of the condition, and care is being addressed for this condition.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if it was as widely understood and respected as the GF world now is!? I certainly think so. IBS is a condition that people with a large variety of conditions (Diagnosed or not) have. Examples of other conditions it’s often if not always seen with are ASD, Fibromyalgia, SPD, ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dysphagia, PTSD, certain eating disorders, MCS, and GERD.
Regardless of when your diagnosed with it. IBS is a life long condition. It may not be realized at first. But, that’s partly due to lack of awareness. It’s also due to lack of knowledge/ease of it’s solutions. Even if the solution is temporary.
So, if you have it. I encourage you to find a support group or two for it. Regardless of if it’s an in person group or online. And make sure to visit it often if it’s online. To participate, help others, relate to/ ask for help in. And buy the way, there ARE free, non-facebook, online IBS support groups.
What ever you do. If you have it. Please recognize it and deal with it the best you can. Be part of the research if that’s something you can do safely as well.
Also, ASD is now and will be even more in the future contributing to this research big time. Everyone with ASD has IBS. Even if it’s not officially diagnosed yet.
Due to the sheer number of registrants for this event, which seamed unexpected. There system apperently struggled greatly to keep up. Meaning many people had issues listening when they tried to. They apperently got enough support e- mails about it, to allow day 1 to also be available through the Day 2’s time as well. so, till tomorrow your supposed to be able to access both, day 1 and Day 2. And thus far, honestly. The summit seams as much about food sensitivities as it it does, GF, women’s, concerns. Enjoy !
If you’ve been hear long enough, you might. But, are you a women, or in love with one? Do you have (Even if only possibly) gluten intolerance or celiac disease? Anyone with Celiac’s, gluten intolerance, or wheat allergy, needs support and a positive community of like minded educated people to have the BEST healthy lifestyle, they can have, to be at there best 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. Eliminating gluten, very likely, won’t need to be your only step to achieve your optimum functioning. However, it should be one of your first steps. If you have ADHD, schizophrenia, ASD, pyroluria, or are part of the majority of my readers. And are a women, or supports one who has any of the above. You need to check out this FREE online conference which is hosted buy a best selling, GF author, who is an international speaker on GF, and who even has a GF online school. Her name, is Jennifer Fugo!
“The Women’s Gluten Free” online conference is free, only till September 12th. And literally just started. Every day there are assigned speakers. About 4, each speaker jam packs there advice into 30 minutes. So your guaranteed, to have more time in your day!
Not only that, I even asked her to arrange the “Could Leaky Gut Be the Reason Your Still Sick?” speaker for my reader’s! She chose the title, I chose the topic, and suggested a speaker for it. I also suggested to her, to address some other food sensitivities in her summit! And now she has, with more then 1 speaker! Which you’ll see if you click the below link and sign up. This topic seriously, (Outside of auto-immune disease and GI,) is not addressed enough in free online conferences. Jennifer and I would love to have you! I’ve teamed up with her team for this, as an affiliate. Don’t you want the right advice to be at your best daily? If so, please click here.
Thank you! And see you there!

Tell Coke to Kiss Monsanto Goodbye and Stop funding campaigns to kill GMO labeling!
You make not drink Coke, but their organic and natural brands are increasing Coca-Cola’s profits! Tell Coke; you’re done with Honest Tea, Odwalla, Zico, Peace Tea and Vitamin Water until they’re done with Monsanto!
Join the Coke Boycott and Refresh Democracy!
GMO labeling – it should be a no-brainer, but greed and power keep getting in the way! Polls regularly show that more than 90% of Americans agree that genetically engineered foods should be labeled! Unfortunately, corporate America hasn’t gotten the memo.
In the past 2 years alone, giant biotech seed and chemical companies have donated more than $70 million dollars to defeat citizen-led GMO labeling ballot initiatives in California and Washington State.
Standing side-by-side with Monsanto for the past 2 years, executives at Coca-Cola have chosen to side with biotech seed and chemical companies like Monsanto and DuPont over the American public by donating more than $3.2 million defeat GMO labeling ballot initiatives Prop 37 in California and I-522 in Washington State.
Tell Coke to kiss Monsanto goodbye and stop spending millions of dollars to kill GMO labeling campaigns in America! Join the Coke Boycott and tell Coke that you’ve had enough of their anti-transparency campaigns.
Every voice counts!
click here if you want to drink any of those drinks again.
What are Coke, Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Trying to Hide?
Last year alone, Coke secretly funneled more than $1.5 million dollars through the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) in order to block the I-522 initiative in Washington that would have required the labeling of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
It’s time for consumers to put their money where their mouth is and join the Coke Boycott so executives at Coca-Cola understand that standing with Monsanto is not what their customers want.
According to Bloomberg News, these Coca-Cola brands played a major role in a recent 13% increase in their fourth-quarter profits in 2012 and it’s time to hit them where it hurts the most – their wallets!
At Food Democracy Now! we think it’s time to show Coke and Monsanto the power of the market and remind them who they really work for. If Coke wants to keep siding with giant biotech seed and chemical corporations like Monsanto, DuPont and Dow Chemical, that’s their choice – but it’s time to remind them that in a democracy and a “free” market – we have a choice as well.
Tell Coke to Kiss Monsanto Goodbye! Or we’ll be kissing these brands goodbye forever! Every voice counts.
That’s why Food Democracy Now! is standing with the Food Revolution Network and Center for Food Safety to encourage you to join the Coke Boycott.
Food Democracy Now!, Center for Food Safety and Food Revolution are gearing up to bring this fight to Coke in a big way, and we need your voice behind us. Help us by joining the Coke
Thanks again for participating in food democracy,
Dave, Lisa and the Food Democracy Now! team
DEADLINE TOMORROW: Help Stop ‘Agent Orange’ Crops!
I got this newsletter in my e-mail today. If your state congressman hasn’t signed it yet, please encourage them to, before it’s too late. Then tell everyone else you know to do the same ASAP. If there in a state that still needs senators against it. Thank you! Everyone one will benifit greatly, if we stop this. If we don’t. We’re in big trouble!

DEADLINE TOMORROW: Help Stop ‘Agent Orange’ Crops!
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) want to approve Dow’s new Enlist-brand corn and soy crops that are engineered to resist a deadly herbicide, concocted from a combination of Monsanto’s Roundup and Dow’s 2,4-D herbicide. (2,4-D is one of the chemicals used to create Agent Orange, used by the U.S. Army to defoliate jungles and destroy food crops during the Vietnam War).
Reps. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore) and Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) are trying to stop them. But they need your help today.
Please contact your Congress members today and ask them to sign on to a letter by Reps. DeFazio and Pingree asking the USDA and EPA to reject Dow’s “Agent Orange” crops! (You can check the list below to see if your Congress member has already signed).
Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) signaled it will approve Dow’s new Enlist-brand corn and soy crops, even though the agency admits that if the new crops are approved, the annual use of the herbicide 2,4-D would jump from 26 million pounds to 176 million pounds.
In their letter to the USDA and EPA, Reps. DeFazio and Pingree argue that the agencies are ignoring the science that shows that 2,4-D-resistant crops pose “significant threats to farmers through genetic contamination and herbicide drift, which can damage neighboring crops, wild plants and pollinator habitat.”
They conclude: “The risks of approving 2,4-D crops are simply too great to jeopardize public health, the environment and the long – term health and safety of our food supply.”
Please contact your Congress members today and ask them to sign on to a letter by Reps. DeFazio and Pingree asking the USDA and EPA to reject Dow’s “Agent Orange” crops!

Note- The link below is now dead. Your too late, sorry.
If the organic standards weaken do you know how bad that would be? No, really!? Do, you? It’s bad enough certain other countries sometimes have some higher food chemical standards. But, how could we even meet a country like Europes strict standards if we weaken our own. Many people would be sick all the time. Some, VERY sick. We won’t live as long likely, and none of us will ever be at our best. Do you know that some people are allergic and sensitive to some of the pesticides, hormones, and herbicides? Especially those with sensory issues, and similiar diagnosis’s with weakened immune systems. Please read and sign this. Then, try to get as many others as possible to sign this too. Thank you!
Keep Organic Standards in the US
According to Julie Matthew’s, the world famous nutritionist, for special needs diets, these are the different types of diets one may go on/need. Since she included the raw food diet, I’m not sure why she didn’t include the FODMAPS diet. The raw food diet is probably not any harder than the FODMAPS diet for someone with special needs to go on. I know however why I wouldn’t usually recommend the FODMAPS or raw food diet for most of us. But, that’s a different topic.
She probably didn’t include it in this list of diets ( that is the Elimination Diet) since 1. One of it’s main goals differ from all the others. And 2. It’s a discovery diet. See my next post on details for this particular diet.

From my natural news newsletter I received a link to this. I’m not sure, if your all interested in this. But, I don’t recommend staying or being on that newsletter. I know the comic I posted previously is from this same guy. Some of what is discussed is just too strongly out there. If you know what I mean.
However, I feel this might not be. And this is very related too allergy week due to the toxins on or in so much produce, and in so much meats, chicken, fruit drinks, and other editable ingrediants. Including milk unless it’s organic. However, even some ( not most) organic things do have some still.
Please let me know what you think in the comments section.

April 30, 2014
By Julie Matthews
In today’s fast paced world, with little rest, overloaded with toxins, and devoid of nutrients, inflammation is very common. Once triggered, it can be hard to shut off – and if certain biochemical processes persist, chronic inflammation can ensue.
Inflammation acts like a fire in the body, literally burning up many of our necessary nutrients. Inflammation can be triggered by infections, irritants, and biochemical processes that have gone awry. It creates pain, and can lead to cellular damage and a cascade of health problems.
In fact, inflammation is underlying most neurological and chronic disorders in children and adults. All of following conditions have been linked to inflammation:
Autism • Asthma • Allergies • ADHD • Autoimmune conditions • Depression Anxiety • Inflammatory Bowel disorders • Eczema • Schizophrenia
Inflammation is a necessary process for the immune system. When the body can’t shut it off however, it can cause serious problems. Inflammation in linked to heart disease, obesity, and diabetes, as well as the myriad of mental health and mood conditions described above.
And some substances that people use to “help” inflammation, like over the counter anti-inflammatories and cortisone creams, are generally ineffective in the long run and can have harmful side effects.
So what can you do? Prevention is a good start; take charge of avoiding common causes of inflammation – things you can influence, like food choices and toxic exposures.
Gluten, dairy, and soy are major food sources of inflammation. Alcohol, processed foods, caffeine, and sugar are also inflammatory. Pesticides can trigger asthma (inflammation) in people, so eat organically whenever possible. Fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory, as are a variety of herbal supplements. Phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables, and spices have anti-inflammatory properties that can be helpful; however, for some people the salicylates and other food chemicals can cause inflammation.
Also, talk with your integrative physician about inflammatory lab markers, and appropriate medical treatment. Sometimes the inflammatory process needs to be stopped, and there are useful methods/meditations that can help. As you are exploring and working on this, I suggest beginning with the food, toxin and lifestyle factors that you can address at home. This may provide you some relief (mild to major) and help you and your doctor determine next steps.
Inflammation is the topic of the April Session of my Nourishing Hope Support Club, a monthly Membership Club for parents and clinicians actively employing specialized diets and nutrition. This April Session is OPEN for ANYONE to attend…member or not!
You will learn more about:
What causes inflammation
Which conditions have an underlying inflammation
Foods that cause and calm inflammation
How to address it: food, supplements, toxins and lifestyle factors
Avoiding common “anti-inflammatory” foods…that actually create inflammation in some people

Proof that texture, taste, and other challenges make our food options sometimes more of a challenge. Then some may expect. Particularly, with folks with ASD, and LD’s, including ADHD. And especially with uncommon ingrediants grown in countries possibly ( this second part is an educated guess) with different chemical standards ( hint hint!) Maybe another post, I’ll eventually share what issues I have with some of these ingrediants in certain states or preparations. I challenge you to ask yourself questions on why these issues exist in me. It could be good practice for your loved one(s), or friend (s), who may have other significant challenges, that you don’t have perhaps ( That you need to be sensitive too) since there hopefully okay with, or tolerate your challenges. Your feelings of these challenges should differ somewhat depending on the type of relationship(s) that we’re talking about. But, we regress.
Great example is broccoli
Broccoli sprouts- no, taste like turnips (That reminds me of parsnips, did I tell u I can’t have that either?) but, parsnips in mashed potatoes taste great! But, I can’t have them 🙁
American broccoli or broccoli flower yes if cooked. No if not. As a baby unless you purred it and cooked the heads only I could eat it. I couldn’t eat as a baby eat it in any other form.
Chinese broccoli no, never.
Cauliflower is different because there’s less stem and there softer and bigger.
Grapes ( in a raw cold state) I can have the purple not the green. But, get this. I can’t have it in a drink of 100% juice, with no added non natural sugar. It will give me a soar throat. 🙁 the white grape juice too, but, it takes longer. I can only have grapes in a raw state. Not in wine, or any other form.
Did you know that all the sugar free jams and jellies all have to have enough sugar in it to stay tog? Do you also know what concentrate all of them in the US use in there sugar free versions? Grape.
Did you know you get more lycopene in cooked tomatoes then in eating most regular sized ones at room temperature? Did you know lycopene helps reverse/prevent sun damage ?
Regardless, I can eat the red ones, brown ones, and orange ones! I can eat but, don’t prefer the baby tomatoes. Did you know the non-organic mini tomatoes have the most pesticides on them? They do!
I love ripe purple plums but, can’t stand the reddish ones. Same with cherries.
The only citrus I can defiantly eat, and maybe wear, or be strongly exposed too is clementines. However, to my recollection, I only remember encountering them, too devour it! No tangerines, lemons, limes, oranges, or citrus cleaners, or cosmetics! But, clementines, are great! Aren’t they?
I can have pears but, not Asian ones or green ones, only tan ones.
Are you starting to see a similarity or two between most of the foods above that I can’t eat yet? I’ll tell you right now. Some of the foods .It’s just texture/taste. If I remember properly all of the different reactions I get for everything.
Atleast, I can eat any colored, cooked carrots! Yea! Did you know that Doctor Daniel Amen, the ADHD, brain researcher, doctor, and King in the NT ADHD world, if you ask me! Says this population should skip carrots all together. Do you know why he says this? I do!
As you know I can only eat onions if there cooked. They have to be translucent or I won’t eat them. But, I can’t have the red ones in any form. They give me stomach issues and diarrhea. Which the first will do in a less then a well enough cooked and very thinly sliced, prepared fashion. Which could increase my anxiety too.
I’m not trying to be mean in this post, buy the way. For all you NT reader’s. And I did notice where that could come from on my own. I thought you might need a shorter post for a change, anyway.
